Well today, was Grinch Day! The kids loved taking a trip to Whoville! We read The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (one of my favorite books) of course. We did some Grinchy Math problems, as well as some sequencing activities. Then the real fun began!
You guys know that I am Pinterest obsessed, so I found this Grinch writing activity on there. I changed it up a little bit though to better fit my kiddos. We have been working on writing descriptive paragraphs, so we brainstormed adjectives to describe the Grinch's appearance and character traits at the beginning and end of the story. Here are some of their finished products. They turned out so cute!
Believe it or not, I even came up with an idea that wasn't Pinterest or Internet inspired! Since the Grinch's heart grows at the end of the story, the students did some writing that shows what makes their heart grow during Christmas. It was so sweet so see some of them write about spending time with their family or giving presents to the needy. I have such a sweet class!
One last thing! The students created Reindeer gift bags for their parents' ornaments! They turned out so stinking cute! Check them out!
Oh, and here is an example of the handprint ornament they made. I loved them because they did it all!
Well, this time tomorrow will be vacation! Can you say excited????
