Flying to Planet Orange!

I have just been a little off lately.  Maybe I'm just worn out. Stressed out maybe?  I think I need to start back at the gym big time.  I think that is one reason why I've been so tired.

Well, today was a workday.  You'd think I would have gotten some work done.  Ummm....not really.

I did get a HUGE pile of papers graded and in the computer.  Which is great since interims go home this week.  It is also nice to feel prepared for the rest of the week.  Can every Monday be a workday?

Last week we finished up our Economy Unit.  Usually I am not a fan of teaching this unit, it was much more fun this time.  My little kiddos LOVED creating  the Economy Lapbook.  (Only $2.50 at my TPT Store)

They worked so hard on their lapbooks and I really feel like they learned the information! They were also pretty ecstatic when I let them use the lapbook on their test!!

My teaching neighbor found an awesome site to teach economy and financial literacy. It's Planet Orange at orangekids.com

The students sign up to be astronauts to travel to Planet Orange to learn all about earning, spending, and saving.  The kids LOVE LOVE LOVED it.  We used it with the Smartboard and in the computer lab.  Some of the kids went to it at home too! There are teacher plans as well as free printables to use! The best part...totally free!

On another note, my younger brother was in a bad wreck.  He has a broken wrist and he's a little scratched up. God was definitely looking out for him.  Look at his car!

This was this morning, at least he can joke and smile about it now.  Do pray for the other driver, she was in surgery today.  I haven't heard anything else.

I hope everyone enjoyed their President's Day (at school or otherwise!)
