Invasion of the Body Snatchers: Love Style.

So I love my class.

I don't know the kids that were sitting in my room today.

That was definitely not my class.

They were very loving to one another, just in a very rambunctious way I suppose.

I know it's Valentine's Day and all, but we are in third grade and as much as I would looove to play all day, we had to get some things done.  So I had to get a math lesson done and I couldn't skip Reading Workshop.

My kids were very rowdy excited during the math lesson.  They were totally getting it though.  We did the weight lesson my my Problem Based Measurement Unit.  The kids used Cheerios and a balance scale to discover how much an ounce weighs (we did the same thing for a gram, so it was a great way to see that an ounce is larger than a gram).  Well, I ran out of Cheerios, so half of the kiddos used counters. It worked out thought because they were able to see that you needed less counters than Cheerios because the counters were heavier.  I love teaching moments that just happen by accident!

Then they went on a lovely weight hunt to find things that weight about an ounce.

Then we used the balance scale to see how many of our bags of cheerios/counters would make a pound.  Guess what? It didn't equal 16.  So that was great.  I love when lessons don't quite work out.  We worked through it though. :)

Reading Workshop went off without a hitch. I didn't have any tears about the lack of picture books.  In fact I had some kids sad that we didn't have time to read for the full 40 minutes.

Well then the storm hit. Every Valentine Activity I had planned turned into a free for all.  They had fun doing it though, so I guess that's what matters.  It was so crazy that I didn't even get any pictures done!

I am just glad that tomorrow is a regular day.  Maybe we can back to some semblance of normal.  We have lots planned for the rest of the week, so we will surely be busy.

After the crazy day, I needed a nap and a nap I took.  Then Mark took me to Olive Garden and then we grabbed some FroYo.  Yum!

I hope you guys had a great Valentine's Day!  If you are in need of some candy, feel free to stop by NC and grab some! :)

  1. A cute story of school kids. School time is the best time that every one remembers. The frank environment in the class engages the students to focus more on the study and check out pro-papers review from us. This environment must be provided in every class . I really appreciate this blog .

Leave some love!
