Mother's Day, Rock Stars and Cowboys

Happy Mother's Day Mom!
My mom rocks. She really does.

At a Friend'sRehearsal Dinner.

Last Mother's Day!

With our GREASE Tickets!

One with the whole fam!

Speaking of Mother's Day.  We kept it reallll simple in my class. It is the week before THE TEST. We made these cute little flipbooks I saw on Pinterest eons ago! Here is the original blog post about it.

They turned out cute!

Although, one of them brought me to tears.

One of my little sweetie's mom passed away after a battle with cancer this summer.  He is EMH and he doesn't always seem to understand that she is gone.  He lived with his aunt and uncle, so I asked him if he wanted to make his for his aunt.  He said yes, and I helped him get started.  When I walked by about 10 minutes later, he had erased Aunt and changed it to Mom.  I asked him about it and he said that he wanted to make it and keep it in his room to remember his Mom. I had to walk away.  It kills me to think of what some of these kids go through.

Ok, now I am crying again.  On to happier things.

Like I said THE TEST is next week. As soon as I saw these awesome rock stars in Elizabeth's post a few weeks back, I knew I had to make them! I grabbed them from Tiffany during the TPT Sale this week.

We listened to ROCK music while we made them.  By Rock Music, I mean we listened to Disney Radio on Pandora.

My favorite part is how different they all look! I copied them on white paper and let them use markers to decorate. Man, do they love using markers.  On the Set List of Success, they wrote lists/sentences about how to be successful before and during the test.

Also, to celebrate all of our hard work the past couple of weeks, we had a Cupcake Decorating Party! Teri posted about it a couple weeks ago and I knew I needed to have one! The kids LOVED it!

Oh and to finish up, the other day I posted some new task cards on TN and TPT for $2.   Someone commented and let me know they would like to see some rounding task cards.  I needed a good reason to buy some cute cowboy clipart!

It has task cards to round to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand. It has several options for recording sheets too! For today only, they are $1 at my TN Shop

The first 3 people to comment can have them for free! :)

Happy Mother's Day to all those Moms out there!
