Spring Cleaning!

Do you ever have the urge to do a little spring cleaning?? I can't wait until my spring break to do some major changes!  But for now, while I'm still stuck in school with winter weather, spring cleaning at TPT will have to do!

I am joining some of my friends to participate in a Spring Cleaning Sale.

Do you want to take part? This is all you have to do...

1-Comment on all of the purchases you have made in TPT.  Did you know that you get credit for leaving feedback?  This adds up and you can get discounts when you check out. AWESOME!

2-Open your wish list and add the items to your cart that you just have to have to make it through the rest of the year!

3-Purchase these fabulous items after you've left all of the feedback!

Click here to visit my store. And here are some of my friends who are taking part too!!

WANTED! A Pirate Activity

As most of you know, I moved from third grade to fourth grade this year.  I love, love, love teaching fourth grade.  One reason I love it so.... is because I get to teach NC History.

A little known fact about me is I love History! I love watching the History Channel, reading history books and being an all out nerd (especially when it comes to American History). I even wanted to be a high school history teacher once upon a time.

I've always loved NC History, even when I was a little fourth grader myself.  One reason why North Carolina is so cool is because of PIRATES! Yep, here in the Carolinas we have an interesting relationship with historical figures like Blackbeard, Stede Bonnet, Mary Read and Anne Bonny. They might have caused a raucous a couple of hundred years ago, but students today love learning about them!

We get the North Carolina Social Studies Weekly (which I love since I'm new to the grade).  They have one for every state. How cool is that? A few weeks back we read up on some of the infamous pirates that were important to North Carolina.  We also read these fabuloso books!

So I created some Wanted Pirate Posters and my kiddos added some information about their favorite pirates.

My teammate had the students create their own pirates and they turned out super cute too!

I've uploaded the file on Google Docs, if you would like a copy for your students! Just Click on the picture below.

What is your favorite part about teaching the grade you're currently in? I'd love to hear!
